Marie-Claude Gévry

Marie-Claude Gévry specializes in organizational strategy and development. She created the strategic advisory services unit at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and headed the team for close to 35 years. Over the course of her career, she has had the privilege of guiding over 400 Quebec companies in her role as a senior director and partner. As the lead of the high-growth companies business line, member of the firm’s executive committee and member of the management committee for the Montreal area, she worked jointly with others to heighten Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s visibility in various industries. Earlier in her career, she worked for CEGIR, whose main focus was on serving clients in Africa and Southeast Asia.

Ms. Gévry’s contributions to the broader business community include a number of board and committee positions, experience she has parlayed into her current role as a corporate director. She is widely respected for her unflagging commitment and strategic vision.

In recent years, she has served on the boards and advisory committees of a number of family-run businesses, including the Intersand Group, M.E.L., Gerodon Canada (Bedco, Bedcolab), C.A.T. Inc. and Groupe Norbec. Other board and investment committee appointments have included investment funds for FIER Outaouais, Anges Québec Capital and Desjardins Venture Capital (CRCD). She currently sits on the investment committee of the new National Bank SME Growth Fund.

Ms. Gévry obtained her BBA from HEC Montréal in 1976 and her MBA from her alma mater three years later. She left an indelible mark on the entire HEC Montréal community throughout her time as a student, specifically as the secretary general of the COOP HEC Montréal board, and in the years since, leading or serving on countless alumni boards and committees. She has also been involved in the broader university community, chairing the boards of Université de Montréal’s alumni association from 1992 to 1993 and the Association des MBA du Québec from 2005 to 2006.
